The result of the French and Indian War had some positive and some negative effects on Great Britain. On the positive side, the British victory weakened France, which was one of their rivals. France gave up all of its lands in North America, either to Great Britain or to Spain.
However, their victory in the French and Indian War also caused some problems. Many of the Native American tribes didn’t trust the British. As a result, there was the constant threat of attack by the Native Americans. The British decided that the colonists shouldn’t go to the lands Great Britain gained from France. This made the colonists unhappy. The increased threat of attack forced the British to spend more money on defending the colonies. The British believed that the colonists should share in some of the cost of running the colonies. Thus, the British placed new taxes on the colonists, which also made them very unhappy. The British also required the colonists to provide housing for the troops that were protecting them from the possibility of attacks by the Native Americans. The British victory in the French and Indian War helped to start a series of events that ultimately led to the Revolutionary War.
The British were helped and hurt by their victory in the French and Indian War.
